The Gospel from Ethiopia to the World

Jessie Udall (center), working on a Master of Arts (Intercultural Studies) defended her thesis before professors Dr. Chris Little (left) and Dr. Ed Smither.

For hundreds of years churches from the West have been sending missionaries to Africa. But could one African nation become a major missionary sender in the near future? That’s the question explored by CIU Seminary & School of Ministry student Jessie Udall in her master’s thesis which she recently defended. In her thesis “Preparing Ethiopians for Cross-Cultural Ministry: Maximizing Missionary Training for Great Commission Impact,” Udall offers an encouraging and insightful study about missions sending from Africa to the world.

CIU Intercultural Studies professor Dr. Ed Smither says the thesis is already making the rounds among those involved in theological and missiological education in Africa. The thesis is posted on CIU’s Mission of God blog.
