Born and raised in China, educated in both China and the U.S., Dr. Yin has been a teacher since she was 19 years old.  She was born again in 1993 through hearing the gospel brought to her by western missionaries teaching English in China.  Since then, her whole household has accepted the Lord (Acts 16:31).

Before joining CIU, she taught ESL/EFL from K-12 to university level in both China and the United States.  She also taught Chinese language and courses in teacher education program.  She is an advocate for ELLs at all age levels and her classroom is her mission field.  Her passion is to train preservice teachers to become committed educators who will teach for the best interest of their students (K-12 & adults) and make positive impact on their students’ lives. Her research interests include ESL/EFL education, study abroad, second language acquisition, and teacher education. She is the winner of 2007 Hebert Handley Dissertation Award.
