Jeffrey B. Wheeler serves as interim vice president at Columbia International University, overseeing the offices of Enrollment Management and Corporate Marketing & Communications. He also assists the university president as ministry coordinator. He is the retired president and chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker United, Realtors® in the Carolinas.
Wheeler began his real estate career in 1976 with Tom Jenkins Realty in Columbia, S.C. and in 1988 he became a partner and president of the company. From 2004-2007 he served as chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker Real Estate, LLC headquartered in New Jersey. In 2007, he returned to Columbia and his previous position at Coldwell Banker United, Realtors in the Carolinas.
In 1998, Wheeler sold his interest in the company and served for five years as the minister of education and administration at Shandon Baptist Church, one of the largest Baptist churches in South Carolina. While at Shandon, he introduced several new ministries and helped lead a major capital campaign.
Wheeler graduated from the University of South Carolina and has served on numerous civic and community boards including Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital, The Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and Oliver Gospel Mission. He is an accomplished speaker and author of “The Best of Both, Practical Lessons on Life and Leadership.”
