What are CIU's undergraduate entrance requirements?

CIU sees you as a whole person. We want to help you develop a strong personal relationship with Christ, and learn balance and stability in relationships with others.

  • Applicants should evidence strong Christian character and commitment, potential for effectiveness in Christian ministry, and the scholastic achievement and intellectual ability to handle college assignments.
  • Applicants must submit a transcript from an accredited high school and an SAT or ACT score, or a certificate of high school equivalency, or a G.E.D certificate. We recommend a thorough background in English grammar and composition, two or more foreign language courses, two units each of math and history and one unit of natural science.

We recognize the power of God to help students succeed in an academic environment even if they have previously struggled, and academic history is only one factor in determining acceptance. The applicant's heart, character, and potential are also considered as important factors in the admissions process.

Does CIU Accept Advanced Placement or Transfer Credits?

Yes! College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and Advance Placement Program (AP) credits are accepted for certain subjects applicable to our program. Click Here for more information regarding CLEP and AP transfer credit.

If you're transferring from another accredited college, you may receive credit for courses that fit into the CIU program you choose if you earned a grade of C or better. Click Here for more information regarding transferring.
