Winter 2014 Intensive Courses:

January 13-17, 2014 - HOM 7411 Advanced Biblical Preaching (3 s.h.) with Dr. Don Hamilton

In this course you will review basic homiletical methods, homiletical variety, series preaching, and annual planning. Prerequisite: HOM 6300 or equivalent. You will gain a thorough understanding of multiple methods of sermon structuring and analysis; understand the relationship between various literary genre used in Scripture and appropriate homiletical methods to use with them; demonstrate an ability to use a variety of expositional homiletical approaches suitable to textual and literary considerations as well as sermonic purpose; gain basic knowledge and experience regarding the design of a coherent sermon series on a Bible book and/or a relevant topic; become familiar with the advantages and process of long-range pulpit planning; become familiar with good representative examples of the bibliographic material available on preaching.

January 21-24, 2014 RES 7961 Biblical & Theological Integrative Seminar (3 s.h.) with Dr. Igou Hodges  

This course offers you a guided study in the techniques and tools required to pursue in-depth academic library-based research on a focused topic. As the summative exercise for the course, you will produce a 25-30 page research paper of publishable quality on a biblical, historical, or theological topic chosen in consultation with the course instructor.

Stay on campus in a hotel-quality room or make your own housing arrangements and commute to campus.

Rates:

  • Single Occupancy ($400.00) includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and breaks.
  • Double Occupancy ($250.00) includes daily breakfast, lunch, dinner and breaks. NOTE: Double Occupancy is assigned on a per-registration basis, unless a specific roommate request is given at the time of registration. Double Occupancy housing fees are non-refundable. Single Occupancy Charge may apply.
  • Commuters ($110.00) will enjoy morning break, lunch and afternoon break.
